History of the AAP

The American Association of Patriots was founded in 1973 by Josiah Auburn in Slaton, Texas. The organization was formed when the county sheriff illegally gained entry into Josiah’s home in order to rob him of the 34 cats he kept for protection. Josiah recognized that the action, ordered by a town council who had become infiltrated by communist sympathizers, was an effort to curb the local cat population so that it would be easier for Vietcong-trained spy birds to monitor his activities. He then created the AAP to expose traitors like the council, rally his fellow patriots to the protection of our great country, and has worked tirelessly to defend our borders and educate our cats in the years since.

The current president (or as we like to call it, purresident) of the American Association of Patriots is his grandson, Zachary Auburn. Carrying on the work of Josiah, together they have published over 300 pamphlets to help guide and enlighten our nation's cat owners, and have dedicated their lives to ensuring that the cats of America are the smartest, softest, cutest, and most deadly kitties the world has ever seen.
